Our Teacher, Ms. Lisa

Ms. Lisa has been an early childhood educator for over 15 years. She received an Early Childhood Teaching Certificate from the West Coast Institute for Studies in Anthroposophy in Vancouver BC. She also holds a teaching certificate from Lifeways North America.

Prior to opening Maple Hollow Playschool, Ms.Lisa was an Early Childhood Educator at Portland Waldorf School, serving as a Lead teacher in Kindergarten and Preschool classes. Ms. Lisa has also led an in-home preschool program, supported staff and parents as an infant care specialist, and worked in an infant room and toddler room in a daycare center.

She has trained as a postpartum doula.

She taught 2nd grade handwork and assisted in kindergarten classes at Portland Village School, a local Waldorf Charter school.

Ms. Lisa has deep empathy and compassion, and brings this to her work with parents and young children. She is honored to partner with families during their children's first experiences with school.

Ms. Lisa is passionate about her work with young children, and continues to stay connected to her education through ongoing workshops and  trainings.

When not working with young children Ms. Lisa enjoys cooking, crafting, and spending time in nature with her husband and two daughters. She loves roller skating, dancing, hiking, and laughing.
